KS Services hosted the second session of our outdoor mini May focus group for teen girls on Mother's Day. Led by Licensed Resident in Counseling Laura Waller, Laura worked with the teens to focus on noticing patterns in their thinking and nurturing kindness in their thoughts.

Time was spent crafting their own "I AM" statements in their journals and painting reminder rocks as a physical reminder to practice self-compassion throughout the coming weeks.

KS Services is so excited about offering this opportunity for young women in our community.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in KS Services hosting a similar group for tween girls or teen/tween boys in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us at counseling@keystoneservices.biz

KS Services' Resident in Counseling, Laura Waller, has been busy this May hosting CONNECT: an outdoor mini focus group for teen girls focused on learning how the body and brain connect when we need emotional and physical care.

In their first focus group session, Laura and the teens focused on identifying feelings and implementing self compassion. Each participant made a Coping Skills Cup to help them practice the following week. Girls were also given a laminated Feelings Wheel to carry in their purse, pocket, or backpack to help identify and express their feelings to others.

KS Services is so excited about this new opportunity to support teen mental health in our local community!

KS Services is excited to have an in person 4-week group for teen girls focusing on the acronym CONNECT!

C-cultivating compassion

O-observing our feelings

N-noticing patterns

N-nurturing kindness

E- examining the present

T-taking our time

Each week we will incorporate physical movement, art, and nature as we dig into these topics that teen girls often do not discuss.

Teens are so busy and consumed with school, relationships and navigating the demands of being a teen that taking care of the brain and body can sometimes be overlooked.

Laura Waller, a Resident in Counseling with KS Services, will lead the teens as they explore these concepts.

Group size is limited to 12 teen girls so please sign up now!!! The link to sign up is here: https://forms.gle/hweAXeQZfp9acTsDA

Within 3 days after registration, the parent will be contacted for credit card payment.

The registration deadline for the group is April 28, 2021.

The meeting spot will be in the parking lot at 8712 Selger Ave, Springfield. Signs will be posted so the location of the group will be easy to find!

Please feel free to email counseling@keystoneservices.biz if you have any questions.

We are excited to CONNECT with you!
