About Megan Mekhail
Megan is a clinical intern in the Northern Virginia area. Having completed a year-long internship, she is eager to continue her work with teens and adults at KS Services under the supervision of Lauran Thomas, LPC-S.
Megan earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from James Madison University. As a student, she gained experience through the Harrisonburg Foster Care and the Victim Witness Offices. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Counseling, at Dallas Theological Seminary and anticipates a Summer 2024 completion of the program.
Prior to starting seminary, Megan spent two years working with Students International in the Dominican Republic. Women’s sports provided a platform for Megan to invest in young ladies as a girls' volleyball coach and mentor. She provided support to adolescents and young adults with few opportunities and
difficult home situations. This transformative experience led to Megan's passion for helping others on a deeper level through counseling.
Megan believes that through a compassionate and client-centered approach to counseling individuals will find healing and hope. She loves listening to clients as they share about their lives and will walk alongside them through their journey to healing.
Megan is conversationally fluent in Spanish, offering her services to those seeking a Spanish-speaking clinician. Additionally, she is open to incorporating faith practices into sessions for those with a specific interest in this approach.
On the weekends you will find Megan spending time with her family and friends, playing sports and games, or chatting. She especially enjoys trying new coffee shops with her husband Martin. They have a golden doodle named Leo who loves to play and keeps them active.
