If you are seeking a mental health professional who is a practicing Christian, KS Services, LLC may be a great option for you. It is through her faith that Lauran can be a witness of the goodness, kindness, and hope of God, even when the individual cannot connect with their own faith. As a licensed counselor who is Christian, she is privileged to sit with you on this journey.

Lauran was formerly the director of Guide Program, Inc. where she was dedicated to helping clients improve their lives through education, insight, and change. She has taught numerous parenting classes and led many families through challenging times. While practicing counseling in Maryland, Lauran had an independent practice and worked primarily with adolescents. Her ability to develop a trusting relationship was what helped  adolescent clients move toward change and develop better relationships within their family system.

Lauran is the happily married mother of two adult children and an eleven-year-old daughter.  She has over 18 years’ experience in providing individual, couple, family, and group therapies to adolescents and adults. She has worked in a variety of settings, including public school systems, private practice, and mental health clinics as an educator, program director, and clinical therapist interacting with families of all types in Maryland, Hawaii, and Stuttgart, Germany where she attended and volunteered at International Baptist Church (IBC). Lauran’s therapeutic style was shaped by a background emphasizing psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral interventions focusing on the development of skills to improve psychosocial well-being and strengthen relationships.

Early in her counseling career, Lauran worked as a school therapist and in-home family counselor.  She then became a program director for young adults with mental illness where she worked with the individual and the family.  During this time, she began teaching parenting classes, running groups on life skills for adolescents and young adults, and had a private practice that consisted of individual, couple and family work.  As a family therapist, she is able to integrate her knowledge of education and mental health issues to help families problem-solve, overcome personal issues, and work toward positive home and school experiences.

Lauran has a particular interest in working with couples and families to address conflict, communication, parenting strategies, mental health, and other relationship issues. Lauran also works with adolescents and their families on behavior and school-related issues. Her passion is to reach a broader group through workshops, virtual and/or live events and retreats. Specific areas of clinical expertise and interest include: Gottman Method couples therapy, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, anger management, trauma, adjustment issues/life transitions, relationship conflicts, school/behavioral problems and high-risk teen behaviors.

Lauran currently is working with English-speaking clients over the age of ten in a private practice via tele-communications in Virginia, Colorado, and internationally. Workshops and retreats are available globally.
