Counseling is a process of healing and change. As a counselor, I believe this process happens in relationships. In the counseling room, I work with people to foster a sense of safety that lays the groundwork for this process. Offering warmth, empathy, and a nonjudgmental attitude is a core value in my work. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns such as life transitions, interpersonal distress, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and trauma. I’ve had the privilege of partnering with individuals from a rich variety of cultural backgrounds and life experiences. I care deeply about the transformation the counseling process can offer, and it would be an honor to work with you.
In session, I build from a person-centered approach. I integrate interventions from interpersonal process, internal family systems, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I offer spiritual integration for clients who desire to draw upon their faith, beliefs, or personal values as a resource in therapy. Under the supervision of Lauran Thomas, LPC, I practice as a Resident in Counseling. As a Northern Virginia native, I’m passionate about serving the local community and walking alongside people through the growth and healing process.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy adventuring outdoors, reading, and drinking really good coffee. My husband and I live in northern Virginia with our young son.
